Most noise canceling headphones are marketed at people who want to block out annoying external noise such as traffic or airplane engine hum so that they can passively listen to audio in peace and quiet. Korg are bucking the trend with their dynamic NC-Q1 headphones which are marketed at professional DJs, drummers, audio engineers and anyone else who is actively working with sound in noisy environments such as nightclubs and recording studios. Watch the official Korg NC-Q1 promo video below for a quick overview.
Korg claim that whereas other ANC headphones begin to suffer from distortion when subjected to extreme noise, the NC-Q1 function well even in extremely loud environments.
The NC-Q1 has microphones on both the inside and outside of the ear cup to suppress a wide range of frequencies and auto-adjust according to the external sound environment.
As well as Active Noise Canceling (ANC), the NC-Q1 headphones feature Passive Noise Canceling (PNC).
Why the Korg NC-Q1 headphones are good for DJing?
The NC-Q1 headphones boast “Smart Monitoring” and “Sound Enhancing” functions which allow DJs to customize their hearing of external sounds by selecting an EQ preset (High Boost / High Cut / Low Boost / Low Cut / Mid Scoop /Flat) and adjusting the volume balance. With just a simple tap, or hold, DJs can choose the ear from which to monitor (right, left, or both). On the right cup is the ATT (Attenuator) button which can be used to reduce malfunction of the noise canceling when the headphones are being used in high-volume environments.
Korg’s NC-Q1 headphones can be connected to any audio player device, mixer or audio interface (stereo minijack cable and 3.5mm to 6.35 mm stereo converter plug included).
What is the NC-Q1 frequency response?
The Korg NC-Q1 headphones have a 10 Hz – 25000 Hz frequency response.
Are the NC-Q1 DJ Headphones wireless?
You can connect NC-Q1 headphones using the supplied 1.5 m long cable or opt to go wireless with the SBC, AAC, aptX, and APTx-HD Bluetooth 4.1 codecs.
What battery do the NC-Q1 headphones use?
The Korg NC-Q1 headphones are powered by 1,200mA Lithium Polymer Battery which takes around 3.5 hours to fully charge and can last for up to 36 hours with noise canceling turned on.
Use the Micro USB Port to charge the headphones.
Are the NC-Q1 Earpads replaceable?
The Korg NC-Q1 earpads are detachable and can be replaced with new ones when needed.
